  • Content: Create, manage, or delete posts, Stories, and other content for the Page. Respond to comments and messages.

Full Control (The "Admin" Level)

Full control is the highest level of permission. Someone with this access can do everything you can do, including managing finances, changing business settings, and - crucially - adding or removing other people, including other admins.

Limit who gets this level of access. Reserve "Full Control" for business co-owners or highly trusted partners. Giving too many people full control is a common security risk. As a rule of thumb, always grant the minimum level of permission required for someone to do their work effectively.

How to Add Someone to Your Meta Business Suite

Ready to invite a new team member or freelancer? The process is straightforward when you know where to look. Let's walk through it step-by-step.

Step 1: Navigate to Business Settings

From your Meta Business Suite dashboard, look for the Settings gear icon in the bottom left corner. Click on it. From there, locate and click on the People tab from the menu.

Step 4: Assign Access to Specific Assets

Now you need to tell Meta which tools this person is allowed to use. You'll see a list of your assets - your Facebook Page(s), Instagram Account(s), Ad Account(s), Catalogs, and Pixels.

Select the asset you want them to work with (e.g., your primary Facebook Page). On the right side of the screen, a new set of options will appear where you can assign asset-specific tasks. Toggle on the permissions they need. For example, a content creator might need access to "Content" and "Insights," while a media buyer would need access to "Ads."

Review the combination of permissions carefully before clicking "Next."

Step 5: Send the Invitation

Finally, you’ll get a chance to review everything you’ve just configured: the person invited, their role in the business, and the specific assets and permissions you've assigned them. If everything looks correct, click "Send Request."

If you're collaborating with a marketing agency, a SaaS tool, or another business, avoid adding their employees as individual people. Meta has a separate, more secure system for this called Partners.

Granting partner access lets an agency connect their own Business Account to yours. This allows their team lead to assign assets to their own employees within their own system, giving you one-to-one accountability without cluttering your "People" section with individuals from an outside company.

How to Add a Partner

  1. In your Business Settings, find the "Users" section and click on "Partners."
  2. You'll have two options. To grant an agency access to your assets, click "Add," then "Give a partner access to your assets."
  3. You will need the agency's Partner Business ID. They can find this in their own Business Suite settings. Enter their ID and click "Next."
  4. The process of assigning assets (Pages, Ad Accounts, etc.) is the same as adding an individual. Select the assets they need, grant specific permissions, and send the request.
